Tregirls Farm

Our ethos and the wider environment

Conventional farming and wildlife sit happily side by side here at Tregirls Farm, demonstrating that it is eminently possible to produce great food whilst still making a home for nature and creating natural habitats.

Which we’ve been doing for generations.

Traditional cattle graze the clifftop fields and pastures, which in turn create perfect conditions for the Chough (recently returned to the Cornish coastline in significant numbers).

Late hay cuts allow skylarks and corn buntings to thrive; the cereals teem with insects, and the fields are peppered with corn parsley, fumitories and marigolds, all bringing colour and vibrancy to this amazing landscape.

Ancient Cornish hedge banks, full of interest and life, are a delight to those who come to holiday on the family-run farm – the scent of honeysuckle and the drone of bees creating lifelong memories for both locals and visitors alike.
